Turner Skenderian

Marketing, Membership & Communications Manager



Turner Skenderian joined A Better City in November of 2018 as our Marketing, Membership, & Communications Manager. In her role, Turner oversees membership engagement, recruitment, and retention. Turner also manages A Better City's marketing initiatives from anywhere to report design and publication, website management, to media coverage. She collaborates with each department to ensure A Better City produces informed conversations and unique events. Turner leads the charge in deepening A Better City's presence with each of its member's organizations through involvement opportunities such as Advisory Committees, Working Groups, and the Emerging Leaders program. One of Turner's many projects includes the Norman B. Leventhal Excellence in City Building which is held every October at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

During her three and a half years at the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau, she supported membership relations, web development, and oversaw annual/monthly meetings for their 1,200 different members. Her amazing partnerships with the members of the GBCVB allowed her to take the next step in her career path to Kimpton Hotels, which has three locations here in the Boston and Cambridge area. At Kimpton, Turner managed all web, social, and community relations for the three hotels and their sales teams. Most notably, she assisted in the rebranding and relaunch of the newly transformed Kimpton Nine Zero and their restaurant Better Sorts Social Club. Her extensive experience with member relations, marketing, and event planning made her a great match for A Better City.

Turner's additional previous experience includes the New England Patriots, Arnold Worldwide, and the Alumni Office at the University of New Hampshire. Turner holds a bachelor's degree in Communications with a focus in Business from the University of New Hampshire.
