Jennifer Leclerc serves as the Manager of Communications & Community Relations for A Better City.

Before coming to ABC, Ms. Leclerc served as Public Outreach Coordinator for the City of San José Office of the City Manager, where she planned, implemented and evaluated communications and public relations programs on a citywide scale. She was senior editor of a news magazine reaching over 925,000 diverse residents and 30,000 businesses.  When San José was building a new City Hall, she served on several communications planning committees, including crisis communications, signage and branding, community outreach / construction mitigation, and event planning. She also worked with the Arizona Cardinals to manage media relations for the Pat Tillman Rose Garden memorial service.  

Ms. Leclerc has won several communications awards, including a 2004 California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) Award of Excellence for the CityLine Online employee newsletter, 2004 Communicator Award of Distinction for CityLine Online, and a 2003 Public Relations Society of America Compass Award for internal business communications.

Prior to her work with the City, Ms. Leclerc was Communications Coordinator for Cultural Initiatives Silicon Valley, a nonprofit catalyst for regional cultural vibrancy. She managed branding, marketing, and media relations. She oversaw branding and event planning for the da Vinci speaker series, designed to inspire Silicon Valley thought leaders and decision makers to be visibly supportive of the arts. She also oversaw the design and production of the Creative Community Index, a quantitative measure of cultural participation and creativity in Silicon Valley, and edited and art-directed two major follow-up anthropological research publications examining the nature of amateur arts participation and its effect on civic participation in Silicon Valley.

In 2004, Ms. Leclerc served as Vice President of the Board of Directors of Works / San José, a non-profit, volunteer-run contemporary art and performance center. During the dot-com era, she was part of the early team to launch iTheo.com, an online marketplace showcasing the work of several hundred member artists, connecting them to buyers and collectors worldwide, and providing them with marketing tools and business services. Early in her career, she worked in the design department of Monitor Group in Cambridge.

Ms. Leclerc holds a B.F.A. in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College. She is currently a member of the Boston Women Communicators.
