In a newly revised role, Kathryn will lead all transportation related research and policy as well as oversee the A Better City and Allston-Brighton Transportation Management Associations (TMAs) and their staff. Our transportation work has been instrumental in helping our members achieve Transportation Demand Management goals and Kathryn will work to advance members' policy and research objectives in an effort to modernize and bring efficiency to Boston and the region's transportation systems and infrastructure.

Kathryn brings over 15 years' experience in research and policy direction as well as small business ownership. She holds both Bachelors of Arts and Masters of Science degrees in Economics from Wellesley College and the London School of Economics, respectively and has served as a board member of the LivableStreets Alliance (a transportation advocacy group) since 2012 and as a member of the Envision Cambridge Committee Housing Group.

Kathryn is the founder and creator of Buca Boot, a patented bike-mounted storage system that won Inc. Magazine's "Best In Class" Design Award in 2015. She has run this company since 2013 and will continue to do so in an advisory role.

Previously, Kathryn spent eight years as a research analyst and economist at Fidelity Investments in Boston covering energy and commodity markets. Prior to that, she served in the Administration of Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle as a senior-level appointee at the Department of Financial Institutions, the state banking and securities regulator. She managed all legislative, policy and communications functions of the department and provided leadership on a variety of initiatives, including predatory mortgage lending legislation and the Wisconsin Angel Network, a public-private partnership to encourage early-stage investing.
