Irene joined A Better City in February 2016 through the Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellowship. Her focus is on public realm planning, and she collaborates with the City of Boston to develop resources and policies that improve the implementation process for creative public realm interventions. Prior to her start at A Better City, Irene served as a Summer Fellow in the Boston Mayor’s Office of New Urban Mechanics and worked as an Urban Designer for Gamble Associates. She earned a dual Master in Architecture and Urban Planning from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design; the American Planning Association granted her and a team of classmates the 2015 AICP Student Project Award for Application of the Planning Process for Connect Chelsea: Three Visions for a Gateway City.
